The position involves leading and supporting outdoor or marine adventures, ensuring participant safety and enjoyment by planning and executing activities like tours, swimming, camping, or other water-based activities. The position also includes providing instruction, managing equipment and setting up for tours or activities, communicating with participants, providing information on the environment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining equipment and facilities.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Greets and assists all customers.
2. Addresses customer queries regarding optional tours and other onshore/island and water activities.
3. Provides directions and relevant information to customers.
4. Communicates in foreign languages with visitors.
5. Plans, coordinates, and leads water-based activities such as boating, swimming, snorkeling, or tours.
6. Supervises customers and ensures customer safety by enforcing rules and regulations.
7. Arranges for tour or water-based activities such as transportation and equipment.
8. Plans itineraries, applying knowledge of travel routes and destination sites.
9. Resolves any problems with itineraries, service, or rentals.
10. Attends to special needs of tour participants.
11. Gives advice on sightseeing and shopping.
12. Leads individuals or groups to tour site locations and describe points of interest.
13. Helps maintain marine sports equipment and facilities.
14. Handles program logistics like scheduling, setup, and cleanup.
15. Sets up, organizes, and maintains marine sports equipment, as well as ensure the cleanliness and safety of beaches and other facilities.
16. Assists customers, answers questions, and provides guidance on using equipment or participating in activities.
17. Liaises with other staff, report issues to a supervisor, and maintain open lines of communication with program participants.
18. Helps with event or activities set up and breakdown, registration fees, and assists with publicizing and marketing programs and special events.
19. Keep informed of shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures.
20. Direct customers to facilities, tours, swimming areas, or boats.
21. Assesses the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan tours and activities accordingly
22. Evaluates recreation areas, facilities, and services to determine if they are producing desired results.
23. Serve as liaison between Adventure Guides, Customer Service Specialists, Lifeguards, Deckhands, Boat Mechanics, and Boat Captains.
24. Communicates recommended improvements in products, service, or billing methods and procedures to management or designated departments to prevent future problems.
25. Recommends and provides advice on a wide variety of products and services.
26. Instructs participants in swimming or other recreational activities and provide safety precaution information.
27. Participates in recreational demonstrations to entertain guests.
28. Allocates equipment and materials to participants in recreational activities.
29. Rescues distressed people using rescue techniques and equipment.
30. Contacts emergency medical personnel in cases of serious injury.
31. Examines injured people and administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation if necessary, using available medical supplies and equipment.
32. Performs any other assigned tasks or duties.
